Born in new York City, Cynthia Alvarez is a mixed Media painter.

The work is an investigation into the infinite, discordant, beautiful peculiarities that lie in the subconscious. She is Influenced by various art movements: neo expressionism, embroidery, naïve art, pattern and decoration, and post impressionism as well as music and history. There is a love of color, form, & texture present in all the works.  The pieces are produced with a mixed array of materials: acrylic, gouache, ink, marker, thread and sequins.  Working on wood, canvas, paper or embroidery hoop.

CYNTHIA HAS A B.F.A in painting from Pratt institute. She has exhibited in galleries and art spaces throughout new york and New jersey.
